Partnering Around the Christmas Tree

Such a simple verse from the Bible but it carries a strong message, especially in the Holiday Season. All that we give & receive to others during this time of the year is magnified as we consider the 'perfect' gift to give or the trouble others have went through to share a gift with us. Which is why we celebrate the Holidays joyously and by sharing the best gift of all: love. For The Salvation Army, this doesn't stop with our staff, volunteers, neighbors or donors - our love and appreciation goes to everyone who helps us make a difference in our communities, large or small! We find this time of year perfect to reflect back on all who join and support our mission & that is exactly what our Trim the Tree event is focused on and this year we held the 5th annual celebration to recognize and thank the Peoria Area Business Community.

With over 50 people in attendance, this year's Trim the Tree was a great success that saw a whole night of sharing in the joyous praise for local business support of The Salvation Army in Peoria. This included recognizing those who supported our mission in the past year monetarily:
- 31 businesses contributed between $1,000 - $4,999
- 17 businesses contributed between $5,000 - $9,999
- 9 businesses contributed $10,000 or more
In addition, The Salvation Army took time to give special thanks to our Partners For Good which are the local businesses that who have kept an ongoing relationship with us & our mission. They not only provide us with monetary donations but also support our work through gifts in the form of goods/services, volunteers from their staff & much more specialized help that closely tie them to the success we continue to see in our work around Peoria.
