Proud to be Doing The Most Good
Our case managers work daily with individuals in need of rental assistance, and with the COVID-19 pandemic, case manager Brandi Neukomm is all-too-familiar with working with individuals who need rental assistance because they have been laid off as a result of the pandemic.
Brandi was able to work with a single mother who was struggling to make ends meet after losing her job during the pandemic. The Salvation Army was able to provide rental assistance to help ease the financial burden the mother and her children were facing. The single mother expressed her appreciation to Brandi, crying tears of joy she said, “I’m so glad I didn’t wear mascara today!”
National Salvation Army Week is a time for celebrating our organization's history, shining a light on how new people can join to support our mission, and thanking our local partners who make The Salvation Army's work possible. We take this week to showcase many things, but we want to celebrate how proud we are to serve in Peoria.
