REGISTRATION OPEN FOR CHILDRENS PROGRAMS AT THE SALVATION ARMY OF PETOSKEY

New Youth and Family Outreach Coordinator Launches Courageous Kids Programs

The Salvation Army of Petoskey is excited to announce the appointment of Michelle Woodworth as the new Youth and Family Outreach Coordinator. Michelle will oversee programming for children, families, and seniors. Since joining the team, she has launched enrollment for the Courageous Kids Summer Adventure Corps and is finalizing plans for the Courageous Kids Character Club, which begins this fall. Both programs are Christian-based and designed to nurture healthy minds, bodies, and spirits through engaging activities.

Envoy Roman Hank says “We are excited to announce that we are able to start up our youth activities once again. We are also very excited to announce that we have with us our new Youth and Family Outreach Coordinator, Michelle Woodworth! She brings valuable skills and knowledge to show the way to reach our youth people of the community.”

Courageous Kids Summer Adventure Corps

This summer camp is open to children ages 6–12 and offers monthly sessions from June through August. Each camp runs Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and costs just $25 per session. Camp dates for 2025 are: June 23–27, July 28–August 1 and August 25–29. Activities include interactive Bible lessons, martial arts and fitness instruction, archery, LEGO competitions, and field trips. Scholarships are available for qualifying households. Parents can register online at SAPetoskey.org or in person at The Salvation Army Community Center, located at 2350 Mitchell Park Drive, Petoskey.

Courageous Kids Character Club

Launching in September, this program is also for children ages 6–12 and will run Monday through Friday from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. on full school days following the Petoskey Public Schools calendar. Each day will focus on a different area of development while still providing time for snacks, homework and short Bible lessons. Mondays will encourage spiritual growth and character building while Tuesday’s will be centered on physical development through Martial arts and physical fitness. Wednesday’s goal is to increase mental strength and focus through activities (e.g., archery). Thursday’s will foster creativity through SAM (Science, Arts, and Music) and Fridays will be a family-oriented day of celebration and skill demonstrations. The cost will be $25 per week per child. Families with more than one child attending will receive a discount for each additional enrolled child. Scholarships will be available for qualifying households. Registration opens in August. Parents can register online or in person at The Salvation Army Community Center.
