The Salvation Army Offers Free Life Skills Classes
QUAD CITIES, IA/IL. (October 6th, 2021)- The Salvation Army has partnered with local organizations for a free 6-week life skills workshop sponsored by First Midwest Bank. Starting Tuesday, October 12th from 5pm-6pm, classes will consist of
six different life skills areas: developing professional responsibility, cooking on a budget, money matters, practical skills for adulting,
how to engage with your child during the school year and let’s get physical.
Each class will be presented by local organizations such as I-Smiles, QC Yoga Foundation, First Midwest Bank, All-In-One Financial and Consulting, Dress for Success, ISU Extension, Davenport Public Library and Community Health Care.
“Over the past year, The Salvation Army's mission has seen the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic continue to persist
in the lives of our local community members. We are excited to bring a type of workshop to the Quad Cities for
our clients as well as the public that assists individuals on how to create a resume to cooking on a budget.
Each class focuses on skills that are an important part in creating a stable and healthy lifestyle”
Classes are available at the Quad City Family Services location at 100 Kirkwood Blvd, Davenport and at the
Moline Heritage Temple Corps location at 2200 5th avenue, Moline.
Pre-registration is required with limited spaces available. COVID-19 restrictions will be in place. Incentives for those that attend.
