Walmart & The Salvation Army team up for Stuff the Bus

Aug 12, 2019 | by Beverly Peterson

The Salvation Army & Walmart Corporation, through a national agreement, had the first national "Stuff the Bus" event on Saturday, August 3rd at the Walmart on Riverside in Rockford, IL. School supplies were purchased by customers and put into the barrels at The Salvation Army tent.

Community volunteers passed out school supplies lists and accepted the generous donations of shoppers. Altogether, 7 1/2 barrels of school supplies were donated to the Stuff the Bus event and over 40 hours of volunteerism was provided.

THANK YOU to the Walmart Corporation and to Eric, manager of the Riverside location, for this opportunity. THANK YOU to our wonderful volunteers for 2 hours of your time. THANK YOU to our staff who makes everything come together for those in need.
