Helping women recently released from prison and fighting addiction recover and successfully re-enter society in Winnebago County, Illinois.


About WRJP

The Salvation Army offers assistance to recently incarcerated women and their families in Winnebago County, Illinois, through our Women's Restorative Justice Program (WRJP). The program provides housing and supportive services for women in recovery from substance abuse with recent criminal history. WRJP provides an array of supportive services for women in recovery who transitioning back into our community after serving a prison sentence. WRJP provides a furnished apartment, food, childcare assistance, counseling, and more. Women can participate in the program for up to two years.

The Salvation Army's WRJP services include:

  • Long-term temporary housing
  • Weekly appointments with a case manager / counseling
  • Childcare assistance
  • Clothing assistance
  • Transportation (public transit, bus passes, etc.)
  • And other support services as needed
