ABOUT THE CONTEST & FUNDRAISER:
To celebrate our National Donut Day, The Salvation Army of Winnebago County is hosting a Donut Eating Contest and Fundraiser! Funds raised will help provide much needed services and programming for individuals and families within the Winnebago County region. To compete in the LIVE Donut Eating Contest, please sign up as a fundraiser using the button below and then contact us to let us know you plan to eat donuts on June 7th.
THE RULES ARE SIMPLE:
1) Sign up as a PARTICIPANT and raise a minimum of $250 PRIOR to the Donut Eating Contest. (Deadline: One hour prior to Contest)
2) Add a company logo or personal picture and your "story" as to why you are raising funds for The Salvation Army.
3) Promote your page/link on social media and emails to family, friends, and co-workers in order to raise funds online. (Winner: People's Choice Award)
4) Once you've raised $250 (minimum) or more you are a CONTESTANT at the Donut Eating Contest on June 7th starting at 8:30 am.
5) Invite your friends to attend the contest to cheer you on and bring last minute donations. (Winner: Nothing But Dough Award)
6) Attend the Donut Eating Contest in the parking lot of The Salvation Army Family Store at 7150 N Cherryvale Mall Drive in Rockford.
7) Eat as many glazed donuts as you can in five (5) minutes! (Winner: Donut Eating Champion 2019)
HOW TO WIN:
Each donation to the contestant's fundraising page counts as a vote. As the purpose of the event is to raise funds for The Salvation Army, contestants are not required to eat a specific number of donuts, but should instead focus their efforts on garnering support for the event. However, as it is a competition, there are three awards:
1. Donut Eating Champion 2019 – given to the contestant who eats the most donuts in five (5) minutes
2. People’s Choice Award – given to the contestant who raises the most money online
3. Nothing But Dough Award – given to the contestant who raises the most money during the contest
THE LIVE CONTEST:
Cheer on the contestants during our Live Donut Eating Contest on Friday June 7th in the parking lot of The Salvation Army Family Store at 7150 Cherryvale Mall Drive in Rockford, starting at 8:30 am!
Free donuts and coffee for all - served by our esteemed volunteers!
