The Emergency Disaster Services Team Responds to Tragic Attacks in Rockford
The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) Team has been providing support and services in Rockford, Illinois, following a deadly, mass stabbing that occurred on March 27, 2024.
We responded by dispatching two trucks, a canteen kitchen, a bus to be used as a warming location, and a mobile bathroom. Approximately 175 meals were served to first responders and community members affected by the tragedy.
In addition, The Salvation Army participated in the community vigil on March 28, 2024. Teaming up with Hope Animal-Assisted Crisis Response, we brought comfort dogs to offer support at the event.
We remain committed to supporting our community during this difficult time, and we pray for healing and strength for the victims, survivors, families, and our entire community.
