The Weekly Word: Firsthand Accounts

Feb 5, 2020

We appreciate & thank Lawrance Jackson for sharing his appreciation and story

"My name is Lawrance Jackson and I just want to say that The Salvation Army has been there for me when no one else would, even if it was just an encouraging word.  They have always provided me with food when I have been hungry and personal care items as well.

The staff has always been courteous and friendly. I don’t know where I would be without their help. They have helped me out when I was hungry and did not have anything to eat. They were encouraging when I did not have a job, encouraging me not to give up and that I would find a job. With their encouragement and support I have been able to stay focused on doing positive things and keep a positive attitude and was able to stay positive while seeking employment.

Lately I have been going through some family issues, my father is real sick right now and The Salvation Army has been here for me through these tough times. Hopefully one day I will be able to return the favor. Whenever The Salvation Army needs any help, I will be happy to be a volunteer for them."
