VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Vigo County Salvation Army’s distribution day for their Adopt a Family Christmas program was held on Thursday.
The program assists low-income families who are in need of help during Christmas. Community members donate Christmas gifts which were distributed to the families on Thursday.
“Today is going to be a very emotionally-driven day. There’s going to be a lot of crying people. There’s going to be a lot of happy people and more importantly, there’s going to be a lot of children in our community that have a merry Christmas,” said Capt. Jeremy Fingar, Corps Officer for the Vigo County Salvation Army.
Fingar said the community went above and beyond with their generosity in helping this program.
