BACKPACK DRIVE SPECIAL DONATION EVENT
The 2024 Salvation Army 7 Can Help Kids Back to School Backpack Program is in full swing – and there’s a special opportunity for Jazz on the Green attendees to donate to it!
This long-running community effort helps ensure that underserved children go back to school ready to learn by providing them with backpacks stuffed full of school supplies. The program’s donation phase is already underway – and now, Jazz on the Green concertgoers will have a chance to chip in on the evening of July 18th.
Here’s how it works: grab some extra school supplies (or even a backpack or two!) on your next trip to the store – and take them with you to Turner Park for the Brass Queens’ performance on the night of the 18th. Just drop the school supplies into the blue collection barrels set up around the park and remember that you’re making a big difference for local children in need!
Don’t feel like bringing school supplies with you to Jazz on the Green? No problem! You can still support the backpack program by going to salarmybacktoschool.org – or by scanning the QR code on the sign at The Salvation Army tent at Turner Park – and making a fast, secure online donation.
The Salvation Army would like to thank Omaha Performing Arts, Mutual of Omaha, the Brass Queens, and KETV NewsWatch 7 for making this special donation event possible.
