Last Friday, July 28, Buddy’s Pizza presented The Salvation Army of Metro Detroit with a check made up of the funds raised during its month-long Detroit Style Pizza Day celebration in June.
Buddy’s celebrated by donating $1 for every online order in June, as well as volunteering in The Salvation Army Detroit Harbor Light’s community kitchen. They also supplied the Harbor Light staff with pizza free of charge.
Wes Pikula, Buddy’s Chief Brand Officer, and Katie Polatka from Buddy’s marketing team presented the check to Lt. Colonel Steven Merritt, Divisional Commander and Regional CEO of The Salvation Army Great Lakes Division.
Buddy’s is a long-time supporter of The Salvation Army and is currently its first-ever Red Kettle Pizza Partner. According to Pikula,
“One of the big tenets of our company is that we give back to communities, and The Salvation Army because of the work that they do.”
Last year, Buddy’s raised $12,700 for The Salvation Army during June and December. This year $9,095 was raised in June and December is sure to bring more blessings.
If you would like to follow Buddy’s example in helping The Salvation Army Do The Most Good for those in need, donations and volunteers are always needed and appreciated!
