Support this year's ‘Coats For Kids’ campaign and help keep children warm this winter
The Salvation Army in the Twin Cities has launched its annual “Coats For Kids” campaign to collect warm weather gear for Twin Cities children in need. Due to the impact of inflation on rising prices for food, gas, rent, and utilities, the cost of winter wear is an additional stress for families struggling to make ends meet.
The public can help by donating new or gently used coats for children and youth of all ages – as well as winter accessories like hats, mittens, gloves, boots, and snow pants.
The ‘Coats for Kids’ drive runs now through Saturday, Oct. 5.
“Families that are struggling are always having to make difficult choices,” said Lt. Colonel E. Randall Polsley, leader of The Salvation Army Northern Division. “They face numerous challenges when incomes can’t keep pace with the rising cost of food and living expenses. Our annual coat drive is intended to help alleviate one of those burdens, so that kids will have good coats to keep them safe and warm this winter.”
Coats and other winter wear can be dropped off during business hours at the following Salvation Army locations and Livea Weight Control Centers:
