It’s Not Too Late to Make an End-of-Year Gift (3 days left!)
Christmas has passed for another year, but you still have time to make an end-of-year gift to The Salvation Army. A gift given today will keep on giving, helping the people most in need in your community all year long.
From youth programs that keep kids safe when parents are working, to holiday baskets and food pantries that feed the hungry, to material and utility assistance that helps those struggling to make ends meet, your gift will make a meaningful difference to those in your community who are most in need.
Please consider making an online donation or mail a check to your local Salvation Army.
Or, if you prefer, you might consider one of these non-cash gifts:
A Gift of Appreciated Stock – Make a bigger impact by donating long-term appreciated securities, including stock, bonds and mutual funds, directly to The Salvation Army.
An IRA Distribution – If you are 70 ½ or older, you may make a qualified charitable distribution up to $100,000 from an IRA to a charity without paying taxes.
A Charitable Gift Annuity – In exchange for your gift, you’ll earn income and benefit from immediate tax savings.
A Gift through a Donor Advised Fund – Giving through an established Donor Advised Fund is a simple, flexible and tax-efficient way to give a gift to The Salvation Army.
A Gift of Grain – Transferring legal ownership to The Salvation Army before it’s sold is an efficient way to benefit The Salvation Army and avoid taxable income from the sale at the same time.
Please don’t hesitate to contact Jenny Herstein, senior director of philanthropy, at (402) 898-6004 or email her at jenny.herstein@usc.salvationarmy.org with any questions or to discuss your end-of-year giving plans.
Thank you for considering a year-end gift to The Salvation Army. May God’s blessings be with you and your loved ones in the new year.
