Minnesota Vikings to highlight The Salvation Army before, during home game vs. Steelers
If you love the Minnesota Vikings and The Salvation Army, then this Thursday’s home game is for you.
The Vikings will highlight The Salvation Army before and during their Dec. 9 game at U.S. Bank Stadium vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers, with free swag and refreshments, a halftime musical performance by Grammy-nominated rap artist Flo Rida, and a donation-matching opportunity from U.S. Bank.
Prior to the game, on the stadium plaza, The Salvation Army will serve free hot chocolate and refreshments from two mobile kitchens. In addition, volunteers will hand out thousands of free Vikings medallions (pictured) that include a QR code to donate to The Salvation Army.
During the game, The Salvation Army and our partners will be featured three times:
- 2nd quarter: A “Hometown Heroes” video about the Long Lake Fire Department, whose firefighters have been supporting The Salvation Army for many years.
- Halftime: A performance by world-famous rapper Flo Rida, who will encourage fans to donate to The Salvation Army by texting SKOL to 24-365.
- 3rd quarter: A check presentation from U.S. Bank. The company has graciously donated $10,000 worth of matching funds for all gifts made to the Twin Cities Salvation Army on Dec. 9.
All donations made to The Salvation Army will stay local and help provide food, shelter and care for thousands of Twin Cities families.
“We are excited to connect with Vikings fans this Thursday,” said Lt. Col. Dan Jennings, leader of The Salvation Army Northern Division. “We encourage everyone at the game to get involved with The Salvation Army this holiday season and throughout the coming year.”
“Skol!” Jennings added, while clapping his hands over his head.
You can do something good this holiday season by donating to The Salvation Army, volunteering, or ringing bells at a Red Kettle. Your help will provide food, shelter and care for local families in need. Because of you, Hope Marches On.
