Salvation Army Employees 'Share the Love' With Shelter Residents
*Cards made by employees at The Salvation Army Great Lakes divisional headquarters
Last week employees at the Salvation Army Great Lakes divisional headquarters created valentines to be given to residents at the Booth Services Shelter in Detroit.
The event was organized by the Care Committee, a group of employees with the stated purpose of “working on initiatives that promote employee engagement.” Other events it has put on have included Employee Appreciation Day, and Christmas cookie decorating.
The “Share the Love” event was an opportunity to have a break from work, while creating cards that will bringing a smile to the face of their recipients.
Booth Services is a family shelter providing temporary residence to women and children facing homelessness. Residents are provided with meals, medical care, clothing, and counseling.
All cards created will be delivered along with a small gift on Valentine’s Day.
