Say hi to The Salvation Army at Vikings Monday Night Football game
Hey Vikings fans! Are you going to the Monday Night Football home game vs. the Chicago Bears? If so, stop by and say hello to The Salvation Army!
The Salvation Army will be at the game giving away thousands of free medallions outside U.S. Bank Stadium. Dozens of volunteers will hand out the medallions all around the stadium before the game starts.
The Salvation Army will also serve free hot chocolate and refreshments near the stadium plaza, where two of our mobile kitchens will be parked.
There will also be plenty of opportunities to donate. Red Kettles will be positioned outside the stadium, with many local firefighters ringing the bells.
“I love helping people,” said local firefighter Mark Dreyer (pictured), who’s been bell ringing for 13 years (read Mark’s inspiring story). “It gets in your blood when you see the effect you’re having on people.”
During the game, volunteer Darlene Schaefer will be honored for her incredible work at The Salvation Army in St. Cloud, where she has created a clothing “department store” for shelter guests. (Read Darlene’s amazing story.)
All donations made to The Salvation Army stay local and help provide food, shelter and care for thousands of Twin Cities families. Give now.
“We encourage everyone at the game to get involved with The Salvation Army this holiday season and throughout the coming year,” said Lt. Col. Randall Polsley, leader of The Salvation Army Northern Division.
Polsley added: “Are you ready for some football?!”
This holiday season, The Salvation Army is calling on all of our supporters to Love Beyond. #LoveBeyond is a national Salvation Army campaign that encourages people to put love above all else, in order to show families in need that love exists beyond their most difficult situations – be it hunger, overdue bills, eviction, addiction, and other hardships. Join us by giving a donation, signing up to volunteer, or ringing bells at a Red Kettle.
