The Salvation Army Great Lakes Division Celebrates Giving Tuesday 2023
With Giving Tuesday once again upon us, The Salvation Army Great Lakes Division needs your help continuing our fight against poverty.
Funds raised through our Giving Tuesday campaign will provide people with proper shelter, warm meals and help local families who may have to choose between paying their rent or buying Christmas presents for their children.
This year’s match is $25,000 courtesy of Commercial Alliance and partner credit unions, Community Choice Credit Union, Los Angeles Federal Credit Union, Monroe Community Credit Union and Omni Credit Union.
Traverse City donors will have an additional match up to $10,000 thanks to the generosity of a friend of The Salvation Army, and Holland donors will have an additional match up to $10,000 thanks to the Howard Miller Company Foundation.
Tanya, a recipient of Christmas assistance at the Livingston County Corps, is one powerful example of the real people who are helped by your donation.

After the tragic death of her husband, Tanya and her children were in need of emotional and financial help. Her friends at The Salvation Army rallied around her, dropping off food at her home and keeping the family involved in activities.
When the holidays rolled around, they received Christmas assistance, through the Adopt A Family program, gift cards for local grocery stores and the Livingston County toy shop which included toys for children of all ages.
“The kids received an overabundance of things during the Christmas program, especially that first year, just an outpouring from the community. They went way over and beyond.”

The support Tanya and her family received were made possible by donors like you. So, this Giving Tuesday remember the powerful impact you can make on lives in The Great Lakes Division.
