The Weekly Devotion for the Week of February 12
God is always with us and rejoices over being our Father, Savior, and friend.
Throughout the entirety of the Bible, God makes it clear that He is always with us. At the beginning of the verse, we are assured of God’s constant presence in our lives. Our Lord is not a distant and indifferent deity; He is Immanuel, “God with us.” He is intimately involved in our journey, and He is ready to guide, protect, and strengthen us.
This verse also tells us that God delights in us. The God of the universe, whose majesty and glory are beyond comprehension, takes great delight in His children. This is a profound expression of God’s love, transcending our shortcomings and failures. God’s love for us is not based on our performance but on the fact that we are His creation.
The verse goes on to say, “He will quiet you by His love.” We don’t deserve it, but God loves us just as we are, and we don’t have to do anything to earn that love. The Lord does not seek to condemn but to redeem, to restore, and to reconcile.
The last line of this verse paints a joyful image of God singing over us: “He will exult over you with loud singing.” This imagery captures the heart of our compassionate and loving Father. God’s song is filled with grace, love, and mercy. Let us rejoice in our loving and present God who takes delight in His children.
May we carry this verse in our hearts, allowing it to shape our understanding of God and draw us closer to Him.
