The Weekly Word - A Devotion for the Week of March 13
1 Corinthians 13:2 has a simple message that requires limited interpretation.
If you don’t have love in your life in some capacity, nothing else among your possessions has real worth.
Does this apply to all of us? That depends on what we hold valuable and precious. But at the core, according to this verse, remaining true and committed to God’s love ensures that we will have everything we need.
In this verse, God explains to us that what motivates us in life – money, power, whatever we value – fails in comparison to having love.
We can have all of those things and more but still be short of the true meaning of life if we are without love.
Keeping this in mind helps us maintain the idea that our true worth is measured in God’s love. Accepting and believing this through faith and His word, we are able to prioritize what’s more important in this world.
