The Weekly Word - A Devotion for the Week of October 18
The message we hear from our culture over and over is that winning the approval of others is the name of the game. As kids we vied for approval from our teachers, our parents and our peers. As adults, we often strive for the job title or the status that will impress our colleagues and our friends. Paul, however, reminds that in focusing our efforts on winning favor with others, we are missing the point entirely. God’s approval is the only one that matters, and the best part is, we don’t have to earn it. God’s gift of grace means we have His approval right from the start – before we are even born.
