Volunteers Important To The Salvation Army During COVID-19 Crisis
The Salvation Army conducted a distribution of food boxes to families in need in cooperation with the Food Bank of Northern Indiana. The distribution was going to be out in the parking area of the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds on April 7th but an employee thought it would be better if everyone stayed on the pavement. When the General Manager, Jeanette Wood, got there she saw the line of cars going clear out of the grounds and decided to stay and told an employee to help as well. They volunteered taking boxes to each vehicle and greeting folks with a smile. “I never really knew what you guys do at The Salvation Army,” she exclaimed as we were leaving. “Thanks for letting us be a part of helping in time of need.” Later in a phone conversation with Envoy Ken Locke, Corps Administrator, as he told her plans for the next distribution she him know that the Army always has a place for outreach if we need one and volunteers as well!
