Selected as a Beneficiary in the Hy-Vee Reusable Bag Program

Mar 1, 2021

The Salvation Army of Waterloo/Cedar Falls has been selected as a beneficiary for the month of April in the Hy-Vee Reusable Bag Program that supports local non-profits.

The Hy-Vee Reusable Bag Program, which launched in November 2019, is a reusable bag program that facilitates community support with the goal to make a difference in the communities customers live and work.

The Salvation Army was selected as the April beneficiary of the program by Hy-Vee store leadership located at 2834 Ansborough Avenue, Waterloo, IA. The Salvation Army will receive a $1 donation every time a $2.50 red My Heart Reusable Bag is purchased at this location during April, unless otherwise directed by the customer through the Giving Tag attached to the bag.

“We are very honored to be chosen as the beneficiary of this program,” said Major Martin Thies, Salvation Army Corps Officer. “The proceeds The Salvation Army is entrusted with from this program will aid in alleviating homelessness and hunger in the Cedar Valley. Your contributions will assist The Salvation Army programs and services we run all year long.”

The Salvation Army of Waterloo/Cedar Falls has provided the Cedar Valley residents with physical, emotional, and spiritual care since 1899, aiding over six generations. Learn more about The Salvation Army by visiting sawaterloo.org.
