Programs and Services
The Salvation Army Lincoln Corps offers a food pantry, household items, prescription medications, diapers, gas, clothing, and laundry vouchers, and utility assistance in partnership with Black Hills Energy (Heat Share). In addition to our Pathway of Hope case management program, the Lincoln Corps offers Sudanese outreach and multilingual staff to support Lincoln’s refugee community.
Food insecurity is a heartbreaking struggle that affects 14 percent of the Lincoln community. The Salvation Army strives to relieve this suffering by providing multiple food services throughout our community. Services are provided through our Client Choice Food Pantry, Winter Night Watch, Kids Cafe, and Kids Cruisin’ Kitchen.
The Salvation Army’s youth development programs provide young people the opportunity to develop their character through exploring different activities, experiencing new things, and learning how to work together as a group. Programs include an After School program, Friday night Teen Nights, character building programs, Corps Cadets and Junior Soldiers, summer day camp, Vacation Bible School, the Gene Eppley Camp, Small Fry and Big Fry basketball, and the Shield Fine Arts Academy.
Pathway of Hope
Pathway of Hope is a casework approach that provides targeted services to families who desire to take action to break the cycle of crises and begin a path out of intergenerational poverty. It is built on the premise that the strengths-based approach combined with hope enhancement practices can help at-risk families overcome barriers and progress along a path toward stability and sufficiency.
