The Salvation Army Salutes Those on the Front Lines of the COVID-19 Pandemic

May 7, 2020

Officers and staff across the Salvation Army Western Division’s three-state area are providing thousands of sack lunches to hospital health care professionals and local first responders on Thursday, May 7 and Friday, May 8.

Called “Heart for Our Heroes,” the aim of the campaign is to honor and salute the doctors, nurses, other health care workers and first responders who are working on the front lines of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. This effort is taking place during National Nurses Week (May 6-12).

“We want to say ‘thank you’ to health care professionals and first responders across the three states we serve who are working around the clock amid the pandemic,” said Maj. Greg Thompson of The Salvation Army Western Division. “These lunches are one small way to show our gratitude and support.”
