Have you ever wondered why the appearance of God (or God’s angels) in the Bible often seems to evoke fear? The truth is, sometimes God’s Good News can feel a bit scary. God might ask us to step out of our comfortable routine. He might ask us to reach out to someone who is different from us. He might ask us to follow him into unfamiliar terrain. But we can trust that even when God’s Good News demands something from us, the end result will always be to bring us closer to His love.
