Spend Black Friday with The Red Kettles

GREENDALE - The Salvation Army of Oak Creek is partnering up with Southridge Mall, which will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Black Friday, to provide a variety of experiences for holiday shoppers.

“Black Friday with the Kettles” will take place on Friday, Nov. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Southridge Mall, 5300 S 76th St, Greendale, WI. Start off the afternoon with free hot chocolate from The Salvation Army canteen (mobile feeding unit), located at the Explorium Brewpub Entrance, and then move to the center of the mall where Salvation Army representatives will have a full schedule of activities and special appearances planned.

Center Court will feature:

  • An Angel Tree: Anyone can select a tag containing a gift (as well as a store in the mall where they can get it) and donate it back to The Salvation Army to gift to a local child this Christmas.
  • Mascot characters
  • Children's games and prizes (while supplies last)
  • Christmas coloring books (while supplies last)

Shoppers will also find opportunities to get involved with The Salvation Army youth programs, our Toy Shop program, our Coats for Kids program, volunteering opportunities and upcoming holiday events.

About The Salvation Army:
The Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the universal Christian church, has been supporting those in need in His name without discrimination since 1865. Nearly 33 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through the broadest array of social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children. The Salvation Army tracks the level of need across the country with the Human Needs Index (Human NeedsIndex.org). Locally, 87 cents of every dollar raised is used to support programs and services in Milwaukee County.
