Emergency Assistance

CommunityStrong! The Salvation Army is here for you!

Emergency Assistance

The Salvation Army stands at the front line providing essential assistance for persons in need. This is never more important than during a time of crisis like the current COVID-19 pandemic. Designated funding has been provided for each unit in the Kansas and Western Missouri Division for COVID-19 response.

As these funds are limited we are asking that before applying applicants contact their lender, landlord, or utility provider to request last resort funding. Funds will be distributed for immediate needs according to availability and based on our funders’ guidelines.

In order to qualify for assistance the applicant must satisfy all of the following requirements:

  1. Have been directly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic creating financial hardship (must show documentation as indicated below)
    • Those who have lost or are receiving reduced income from employment
    • Unforeseen expenses due to COVID-19 pandemic such as health care co-pays, child care, etc.
  2. Provide tangible documentation of the COVID-19 related hardship

Our goal is to complete this process as quickly as possible. Give a call directly to our neighborhood Koch Center (Downtown area) or your assigned neighborhood Corps Community Center (listed below) to immediately talk to an Emergency Assistance Team member.
