THE SALVATION ARMY CANCELS
ANNUAL COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP BREAKFAST EVENT
WICHITA, KS (August 6, 2020) – As we respect the City, County and State’s action steps to deal with the current crisis surrounding COVID-19, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the cancelation of The Salvation Army 2020 Annual Community Leadership Breakfast scheduled for September 16, 2020 at Century II Exhibition Hall.
In line with our mission and brand promise of Doing the Most Good, the health and wellbeing of our constituents, advisory board and committee members, volunteers, staff and officers and those we serve are our highest priorities. Due to the COVID-19 global health concerns and high vulnerability of those who would be present at our annual Leadership Breakfast, as well as the communities our supporters interact with, this is the right decision.
While we are very disappointed the live event has to be canceled, we are pleased to announce we will offer an on-line streaming presentation Wednesday, September 16th. The virtual presentation link will be posted on our website, all social media and accessible free to our community. We will still feature guest speaker Dan Meers, the Kansas City Chief Wolf mascot, pay tribute to longtime supporter of The Salvation Army, Martha Buford, and feature special cameo’s and comments from Community Leaders and our generous sponsors.
Restoring hope to transform lives is not cancelled. The Salvation Army remains strong and blessed with supportive community. Our ability to serve those desperate for basic needs, healthy foods, school supplies, winter wear, shelter, utility assistance, spiritual support and much more, is only possible from your donations. Donations that stay in our community. Help us help others here: bit.ly/Covid19ICT
We appreciate your understanding of this difficult decision. If you have any questions, please email craig.davis@usc.salvationarmy.org or call 316-425-6131.
Even though the event will not be a live event, we look forward to Dan Meers' presentation and other elements to be included in the streaming presentation. We have partnered with HOMEGROWN to provide our sponsors and table sponsors special food vouchers for your commitment to The Salvation Army and to the guests you anticipated attending the live event.
Sponsoring to support The Salvation Army's mission, programs and services is still welcome. We are expanding benefits to existing sponsors, as well as offering an unprecedented branding extention for our sponsors, to not only sponsor our upcoming streaming presentation and also join as a Community-Leader Sponsor through our Red Kettle season through the end of the year. Contact Kelly Peters, kelly.peters@usc.salvationarmy.org or 316-425-6137. Continue to check out this website for more details in regard to receiving food vouchers or further updates.
