Meeting Housing Needs Through Comprehensive Assessments

Sep 24, 2014

The Salvation Army’s Housing Assessment Program (HAP) serves as the community’s central point of entry for anyone in Kent County who is homeless or at immediate risk of homelessness.  HAP conducts an assessment with the households in order to determine need, prioritization and coordination of community resources.  Referrals are made to local agencies to provide appropriate assistance with the ultimate goal of a plan for obtaining/maintaining stable housing.

Housing Services also provides Street Outreach workers within the community to engage with persons who are homeless and assist them in connecting with community resources.

Local congregations are also invited to be involved in the ending of family homelessness by both donating financial and volunteer support through the Congregational Partnership Program.
