The Salvation Army, Carol Roeda and ArtPrize
Many individuals have had moments of darkness in their lives. For some it is a broken relationship, the loss of a loved one or the loss of a job. For others, an addiction (23.5 million Americans) or depression (28.3 million Americans). Artist Carol Roeda and her ArtPrize entry "Color Out the Darkness" uses color as a metaphor for the grace of God that shows us a way out of the darkness by bringing hope. Over 33 million people received help from the Salvation Army last year. A prophecy fulfilled by Jesus - The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it." - John 1:5 (NIV) For more information click here.
