THE SALVATION ARMY OF ELKHART’S ANNUAL GALA IS BACK THIS YEAR
Join The Salvation Army of Elkhart for a glamorous evening of dinner, dancing and celebration at their annual Christmas Gala, which will be held on Friday, Dec. 3 inside the Crystal Ballroom at the Lerner Theatre. After holding the gala virtually last year due to the pandemic, The Salvation Army is excited to welcome the community in person to this year’s “Roaring ‘20s” theme.
Tickets are on sale now at SAElkhart.org and the deadline to purchase is Thursday, Nov. 18. Sponsorship opportunities are available.
Community supporters Bill and Kristin Fenech will be honored during the evening.
“We are so grateful for the efforts of the community and Advisory Board to make the gala happen in person this year,” Elkhart Corps Officer Lieutenant Katy Benedict said. “The gala is a fun way to come alongside our Christmas campaign and we look forward to seeing you on Dec. 3.”
The Gala is a part of The Salvation Army’s annual Christmas fundraising campaign, which provides funds to serve the local community year-round in the following ways:
- Supplies nearly $100,000 in financial assistance for those with loss of income;
- Helps families in poverty set goals to increase their independence through the Pathway of Hope program;
- Gives food, gifts and personal care baskets to over 2,000 individuals in need during the Christmas season;
- Offers youth development opportunities for children in our community.
“It’s great to have The Salvation Army’s Gala back this year!” said Joan Rhoade, a former Salvation Army Advisory Board member and the honoree at the organization’s 2020 gala. “I am always surprised and touched by the stories and places the Army shows up in our community; so many times these efforts are behind the scenes or in ways you wouldn’t expect. The gala is meant to be a time to celebrate these efforts and to introduce new people, especially the next generation, to this wonderful organization.”
