Behind the Shield: Katie Wood, Administrative Assistant
Katie Wood, the Administrative Assistant to the Divisional Director of Development at The Salvation Army of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan Divisional Headquarters. She has recently worked for The Salvation Army for the past three years. While she was in high school, she assisted the Divisional Secretary's Assistant, Katie participated in various administrative duties.
Q. How did you first learn about Salvation Army?
A. I grew up in The Salvation Army and my parents were officers for many years of my childhood.
Q. What is your favorite part about working at Salvation Army?
A. I love that I get to share my faith as a part of my job. The mission of The Salvation Army is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination, which lines up perfectly with my hearts desire as a follower of Jesus.
Q. What has been your favorite experience at Salvation Army?
A. Working with the amazing staff and seeing lives of our clients changed has been my favorite experience.
Q. What is one thing you believe the world should know about Salvation Army?
A. That we will love you and help you and support you and challenge you to become everything you were created to be - without discrimination!
Q. What are 3 words you would use to describe Salvation Army?
A. Jesus Is Lord
Q. What is your favorite event/project to work on?
A. I love planning and executing any and all of the special events that we use to raise money and honor our incredible volunteers.
