Q. How did you first learn about The Salvation Army?
A. Actually I “grew up” in the Salvation Army. The Salvation Army is a faith based organization and this was my family’s Church home growing up in Chicago. From an early age I learned about the importance of serving where there is the greatest need and respecting each individual.
Q. What is your favorite part about being involved with The Salvation Army?
A. The variety of areas that the Army serves, the diversity of its programs and commitment to its mission. It’s all good!
Q. What has been your favorite experience at The Salvation Army?
A. I really enjoy ringing the bells at Christmas time. Puts me in the holiday spirit!
Q. What is one thing you believe the world should know about The Salvation Army?
A. It really follows its mission of going to where the need is greatest. Meeting people where they are at.
Q. What are 3 words you would use to describe The Salvation Army?
A. Mercy, Hope, Truth
Q. What is your favorite project to work on?
A. I enjoyed working on our recent Red Kettles on the Red Carpet Gala. It was a lot of fun to see our first gala ever come together to raise money for a good cause.
Q. Is there anything you’d like to add?
A. The Milwaukee Salvation Army started the Chaplaincy Program which is now being used by other parts of the US. It’s a very impactful program that provides support in the community during tragic situations. It’s a strong example of how the community and the Salvation Army can come together to solve a problem.
