Behind the Shield: Nancy Zompolas, Volunteer Administrator

Nancy Zompolas is the Volunteer Administrator at The Salvation Army of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan (the Divisional Headquarters) in Wauwatosa. She has worked for the organization for almost two and a half years. In her role, Nancy develops relationships with existing volunteers and cultivates new volunteers in support of the Milwaukee County programs. She also provides support and training on all things volunteer related to the Corps and Service Extension staff throughout Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. Learn more about Nancy below:

Q. How did you first learn about Salvation Army?
A. Through my local community.

Q. What is your favorite part about working at Salvation Army?
A. Their mission, which is: “to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human need in His name without discrimination.”

Q. What has been your favorite experience at Salvation Army?
A. Working with the more than 6,500 volunteers in Milwaukee County.

Q. What is one thing you believe the world should know about Salvation Army?
A. It is so much more than just the red kettles. There are so many programs and services that are offered that receive no recognition or publicity.
