Boaz the Horse To Ring Bells For The Salvation Army
Bill's Food Center in Oregon will host the bell-ringing horse this Saturday, Dec. 21
DANE COUNTY - With six ringing days left The Salvation Army is calling for all hands- and hooves- on deck. Boaz the horse and his caretaker Mary Hougan will be ringing bells at Bill's Food Center in Oregon this
Saturday, December 21. Boaz is a gentle giant (picture attached) and Mary has taken him to nursing homes and daycare centers spreading his joyful message that big or small, anyone can find ways to put a smile on someone's face. Pictures and petting will be permitted.
The 21st is the final Match Day of the season, sponsored by Midlands Psychological Associates. With Red Kettle donations currently ~$335,000 behind on the $600,000 goal, The Salvation Army encourages one and all to make it out to a kettle to either pick up a shift or match their gift this weekend. Red Kettle Campaign donations support seven housing programs, two homeless shelters, and myriad services in Dane County, including the Adopt-a-Family holiday program, a community center with after school and summer programming, Emergency Disaster Services, and more.
