The Breastplate of St. Patrick
Greetings friends,
As you know, Saint Patrick's Day for many is a reason for having parties and wearing green, having sales, if not to honor the name of St. Patrick - to honor those from the Emerald Isle.
For those who take partying to an extreme, we at The Salvation Army are often left to help pick up the pieces of family and friends who suffer the fallout. I can not throw stones, as this is once how I lived my life - looking for reasons to abuse alcohol and drugs, and trying to get others to join with me. But, Jesus Christ changed my life in a powerful way, and I will be eternally thankful to Him. Praise God for his free gift of Salvation, and his blessed gift of a clean heart!
I was introduced to The Breastplate of St. Patrick last fall at our Officer Councils, and thought it appropriate to share today, as it conveys the heart of a great man's ministry. This is what St. Patrick stood for, lived and died for. So different than our modern celebrations.
May you be blessed by this as I have been... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGHWiAGpIP0
