Emergency Disaster Services Volunteers to Retire After 12 Years

Mar 13, 2015 | by Krachel Greenwood

EDS Volunteers RetireWe'd like to introduce you to Sue and Leon. This amazing couple has been the head of the Brown County Emergency Disaster Services outreach team since 2003. As soon as they completed their volunteer training they hit the ground running, taking The Salvation Army canteen (mobile kitchen) down to Florida after hurricanes hit in 2004. In 2005, after Hurricane Katrina, they took the canteen to help there as well. They've also taken the canteen around the state to help after tornadoes and floods. In the Green Bay area they have assisted with many local fires.

After 12 years of service they are passing off the reins. We can't thank them enough. Their compassion, dedication and the hope they have provided has impacted hundreds of lives across the country. They are truly a wonderful example of Doing the Most Good! Thank you Sue and Leon for showing the Green Bay community The Salvation Army's Emergency Disaster Services program at its finest!
