Salvation Army reopens meal program to the public on weekends

LA CROSSE – The Salvation Army is once again offering free breakfast, lunch, and dinner to the public on weekends.

The Salvation Army stopped serving meals to the public on Saturdays and Sundays in late August due to staffing shortages.  During the closure, weekday meals were still open to the public and weekend meals were still available to emergency shelter residents.

Starting November 17th, weekend meals will once again reopen to the public.  Meals are available to the public at the following times:

  • Breakfast: 7:30-8am M-F, 8:30-9am on weekends
  • Lunch: 11:30-12pm M-F, 12:30-1pm on weekends
  • Dinner: 4:30-5pm M-Su

More than 80,000 meals are served through the kitchen every year.  This large number is made possible through monetary contributions, various community nonprofit partners including Great Rivers United Way and Hunger Task Force of La Crosse with business partners such as Kwik Trip and Festival Foods.

For more information on the community meal program, call The Salvation Army at (608) 782-6126 or visit www.SAlacrosse.org.
