Salvation Army Volunteers Provide Aid To Search and Rescue Teams

BARRON - The Salvation Army is on the ground in Barron, Wisconsin, with multiple volunteers and a canteen (mobile feeding unit) Tuesday afternoon.

This comes a day after the Barron County Sheriff asked for 2,000 volunteers to help search for evidence regarding 13-year-old Jayme Closs' disappearance. Closs vanished early October 15.

Salvation Army volunteers are currently bagging almost 2,000 lunch and dinner meals for search and rescue crews who will be on the scene all day.

"The Salvation Army is ready to provide aid to the search and rescue teams as long as we are needed," said Major Steve Merritt, Divisional Commander for The Salvation Army in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan.
