2019 Bell Ringing Sign Ups Open to the Public

LA CROSSE – The Salvation Army is once again asking for the community’s help by spreading Christmas cheer.
On Saturday, November 9th – The Salvation Army will kick-off its bell-ringing portion of the 2019 Red Kettle Campaign.  The Campaign raises approximately one-third of The Salvation Army’s annual budget, funding various daily & monthly programs such as the Emergency Shelter & Meal Program, and seasonal programs such as the Back2School & Angel Giving Tree programs which supply low-income families with clothing and Christmas Food Baskets.  In 2018: The Salvation Army surpassed its Campaign’s goal, with the bell ringing total raising $36,000 more than the previous year’s total with more than 2,600 volunteers taking part in the effort.  This year, The Salvation Army has set a goal of $850,000 to meet the needs of La Crosse County.

Throughout the Campaign: The Salvation Army of La Crosse will rely heavily on volunteers to fill more than 2,600 bell-ringing shifts at 23 different sites in La Crosse, Onalaska, and Holmen.  Each shift is two hours long and falls between 10:00 am and 8:00 pm.  There are also limited bell ringing opportunities in West Salem and Bangor.

Bell ringers can sign up for shifts by going to www.RegisterToRing.com or by contacting The Salvation Army’s Volunteer Coordinator: Alex Riley (P: 608-782-6126 x226 E: alex.riley@usc.salvationarmy.org).

The Salvation Army will kick off the Red Kettle Campaign with a pancake kick-off breakfast set for Friday, November 8th from 8-10 am at the Salvation Army’s Gym; This event is free and open to the public. Brenengen Auto Group will be kicking off The Salvation Army’s bell-ringing campaign by matching up to $10,000 on Saturday, November 9th.

Bell ringing runs through Tuesday, December 24th. The Red Kettle Campaign as a whole runs through January 31st, 2019.
