GREEN BAY - On Tuesday, November 12, The Salvation Army will kick off its annual major fundraiser, the 2019 Christmas Campaign, with a unique event titled The Costumed Caroler.

Major Matt O’Neil, Greater Green Bay Area Coordinator, will publically announce the 2019 Christmas Campaign goal, to be followed by local celebrities disguised in costumes performing their favorite Christmas songs. Attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite performance, and select tables will try to guess the costumed caroler's true identities.

“This year we were looking for a fun way to kick off the Christmas Campaign and get more community members involved,” said O’Neil. “We think it’s going to be a great way to educate people about the campaign, as we rely on the community’s support to help us reach our goal so we can continue serving those in need.”

The Christmas campaign supports year-round programs and services that meet the basic, spiritual, and physical needs of those that come to The Salvation Amy facilities.

The success of the campaign relies upon thousands of volunteers who ring bells at the iconic Red Kettles.  Around 30 business locations throughout the community graciously open their doors and welcome a kettle set-up.
