The Salvation Army to provide Christmas Day Meal in Milwaukee
Christmas Family Feast is free, open to the public
MILWAUKEE - The Salvation Army is one week away from its 35th annual Christmas Family Feast. About 400 volunteers will help prepare and serve a meal for an estimated 4,000 people at the Baird Center, 400 W. Wisconsin Ave., in Milwaukee on Christmas Day, Wednesday, Dec. 25.
Doors will open at 10:30 a.m., and the dine-in-only meal will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event, Wisconsin's largest Christmas Day meal, is free and open to the public.
“Christmas Family Feast is a Milwaukee tradition filled with food, fun, and fellowship,” said Major Beverly Gates, Area Commander for The Salvation Army of Milwaukee County. “We encourage everyone to join us on Christmas Day.”
Everyone who arrives will receive a sit-down meal with turkey, mashed potatoes, cornbread, green beans, and dessert. Santa may even make an appearance!
Christmas Family Feast is presented by Advocate Aurora Health. Other sponsors include Ascension, the Baird Center, Bimbo Bakeries, Cedar Crest Ice Cream, Hunger Task Force, Kiwanis, Levy, Milwaukee County Transit System, Roundy’s/Pick ‘n Save, Sysco, and the We Energies Foundation.
