The Salvation Army To Provide Lunch For Oak Creek Students During School Closures

OAK CREEK, WI - The Salvation Army of Oak Creek, in partnership with Oak Creek-Franklin Joint School District and with support from OCFSD Moms Facebook group, has organized a bag lunch feeding program for the first week of school closures in Oak Creek associated with the COVID-19 crisis.

Lunch distribution will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. from Monday, March 16 to Friday, March 20 at:

  • Forest Ridge Elementary, 2220 W. Drexel Rd., Oak Creek, WI
  • Oak Creek High School, 340 E. Puetz Rd., Oak Creek, WI
  • The Salvation Army Oak Creek, 8853 S. Howell Ave., Oak Creek, WI

"Families will be able to drive through a lunch line and pick up bag lunches for their students. This process will help minimize exposure and hopefully speed up the line," said Major Steve Woodard, Milwaukee County Coordinator. "Future weeks will be assessed and reviewed based on the need."

Bag lunches will include a sandwich, a fruit, a snack, and milk or juice.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:

Snack and supply donations. The Oak Creek School district will provide The Salvation Army with staple food donations of bread, lunch meat and produce. Snack items are needed as well as paper lunch bags, sandwich bags and food service gloves.
Monetary donations. You can make cash and check donations directly to the Oak Creek Salvation Army or make an online donation at: OakCreekSA.org
