THE SALVATION ARMY TO PROVIDE SUPPORT TO LAW ENFORCEMENT DURING PROTEST

Manitowoc, WI (January 28, 2016) The Manitowoc Police Department has requested the assistance of the Manitowoc Salvation Army to be present at the courthouse during a Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey protest scheduled for today, Friday, January 28, 2016.

“The role of The Salvation Army, in all communities it serves is to respond and cooperate with law enforcement when requested by police or fire departments. We have been requested by the police chief in Manitowoc, to be present on Friday to provide coffee, water, hot chocolate and snacks to law enforcement personnel. No local funds or donations to The Salvation Army will be used for this event. All costs will be covered by the Manitowoc police department,” said Lt. Jeff Olson commanding officer of The Salvation Army of Manitowoc County.
