THE SALVATION ARMY RESPONDING TO VERONA TORNADO
WAUWATOSA, WI (JUNE 17, 2014) The Salvation Army is assisting with the emergency disaster efforts with emergency management in Green, Grant and Dane Counties after storms and tornados hit Monday night.
“We are currently on the scene providing food and water in Dane County to emergency responders and those affected by the tornado that hit Verona, WI,” said Major Dan Jennings, Divisional Commander for Wisconsin & Upper Michigan.
OVERALL SITUATION:
· The Salvation Army is currently situated next to Dane County Emergency Command Unit in front of the tornado damaged Country View Elementary School in Verona
· A Salvation Army employee on the scene could see the definite path of the tornado
· The Salvation Army will be providing lunch to first responders and residents of Verona
· The Salvation Army will be providing spiritual and emotional care on the scene
