Cadillac Salvation Army leader to camp out in Red Kettle for Red Kettle Campaign

Dec 15, 2023

Lieutenant Gregory Bock of The Salvation Army Cadillac corps is doing it again! Bock has a unique tradition to raise awareness for his local Red Kettle campaign: he climbs inside a giant red kettle and lives in it until the goal is met.

Starting Saturday Dec. 16, Bock said he plans to spend every day up until Christmas Eve camped out in the Red Kettle to raise the rest of the money needed to meet their $200,000 goal.

“This year I will sleep in a red kettle that we had built by Cadillac Fabrication, to bring awareness and advocacy to homelessness, food insecurity, some of the major problems that our friends and neighbors in our communities face every single day. And what better place to do it than a big red kettle during Kettle Season,” said Bock.

Thanks to the Kiwanis Clubs of Kalkaska and Cadillac your donation will be matched dollar for dollar to help them meet their goal. To help them meet their goal click here.

“I go up with very little. Maybe a mat to sleep on and some hand warmers. As people stop and ask why there is a crazy guy living in a giant red kettle, the magic begins!”
