NASCAR Foundation Donates to The Salvation Army of Jackson

Aug 27, 2024

On Friday, August 16th representatives from The Salvation Army of Jackson attended the Speediatrics Fun Day Festival at the Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn Michigan.

Hosted by NASCAR, the event’s stated purpose is to “promote healthy lifestyles of children in local racing communities through racing-themed lifestyle programing.”

Included in the festivities was a check presentation donating $15,000 to The Salvation Army of Jackson’s Youth Program from the NASCAR Foundation.

There were many fun activities for the children attending, including “pit crew” (changing tires on a toy racecar), a tire-rolling relay race, water games, and music at the stage area.

Also present at the event was Casey Carden, the racecar driver of the #31 Rise Motorsports Chevrolet, Sponsored by Epic Motorsports Insurance. Carden expressed his excitement for the event:

“It’s a cool experience to see the local community out to make an impression on these kids at a young age at the racetrack doing something fun. Maybe they’ll find something they’re passionate about by coming here today, and hopefully they have a good time and enjoy the experience out there,” Carden said.

Regarding the NASCAR Foundation’s donation, he said:

“It's awesome to just see the community outreach, and it's awesome to see what NASCAR does to include everybody and try to really support the hometown of all these racetracks.”

The Speediatrics Fun Day Festival is sure to be an unforgettable experience for the children in attendance, and the donation to The Salvation Army of Jackson’s Youth Program ensures more children can take part in life-changing programs.

If you would like to follow the NASCAR Foundation’s generous example and make a difference in your community, you can donate to The Salvation Army, or volunteer at a location near you.
