Volunteer Highlight: Finding Hope to Give Hope
Hope first became acquainted with The Salvation Army through her involvement with our Pathway of Hope program. After graduating from the program, Hope wanted to find a way to give back to The Salvation Army because the program and organization had helped her family in such an impactful way. She decided to volunteer her time by helping wherever she could help meet the greatest need. 
Hope first began volunteering right before the busy Christmas season by helping us get organized and ready for the myriad of activities that accompany this time of year. There isn’t much Hope can’t do. She always greets our guests with a kind word and pitches in to help in whatever way she can. From making thank you calls to our supporters to assisting in our food pantry to helping cook meals and prepare for special events- Hope is always ready with a smile and can-do attitude! Her humble spirit shines through by coming alongside our volunteers and staff to ensure The Salvation Army is able to fulfill our mission.
When we asked Hope why she serves so faithfully each and every week, her response was,
“The Salvation Army and the Pathway of Hope program had such a huge impact on me. I just wanted to be a part of this place and give back to help other people.”
Hope inspires each of us every day and we are so blessed to have her as part of our Salvation Army family!
