Every day The Salvation Army helps cure hunger by providing nutritious meals to neighbors in need.
Here in Michigan, one out of six children face food insecurity.
The Salvation Army works to ensure that every member of our community has the food they need to thrive.
If you face hunger, we want you to know that you are not alone.
How we help cure hunger
Sal's Soup Kitchen
The Salvation Army provides a hot meal Monday through Thursday from 11:30 am to 12:30 p.m. at our Sturgis Community Center, 105 N. Fourth Street.
Faith Lutheran Church provides a hot lunch at noon on the last Sunday of each month at The Salvation Army Community Center.
All are welcome. No appointment or, eligibility process, or documents are necessary. Anyone who needs help supplementing their food budget may come and eat. The only thing required is to sign in when you get here.
Food Pantry
The pantry program is a tool that helps families and individuals through financial difficulty and food insecurity by donating food from the community and purchasing it from the Salvation Army. The pantry can also serve as an entry point for those who need more in-depth case management. The pantry allows us to work with residents and help them create their own budget.

Our Food Pantry in St. Joseph County is open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
